The Author writes…

I’ve had an interest in buses from a young age, and in particular those from London. Back when I was a child, buses were a part of my everyday life and far more interesting than the new ones of today. They had open platforms and conductors, and if you were lucky enough to get the front seat you could sit just behind the driver watching him steer and change gears, whilst listening to the distinctive sound of the engine. The highlight of my summer holidays was not the chance to play on the beach, but the opportunity to spy unfamiliar buses!

Wind forward 40 years and I’m ‘on the buses’ again, about to embark on a new chapter in my life with Billy the Bus and his friends, and I’m excited ! I’m excited about publishing a book and I’m excited about seeing how far this journey might take me (and Billy). For just as the famous red London bus is known throughout the world, I hope Billy and his books can find a place on bookshelves and in digital format around the globe.

I will always be happy to hear from you, my readers and customers, so I encourage you to get in touch. I’ll do my best to answer your emails and letters, and will publish children’s drawings or photographs of buses in the Gallery on Billy’s website.
